The Procedure made for the Establishment of College Campus
A huge amount of donation was received from the dominating figures belonging to Saurashtra region whose habitat was Varachha road and hence the deep desires nourished by Swamiji were met with. Three leading industrialists who had affection for the women education donated massive sum for the establishment of three colleges: Arts, Commerce and Women’s College. A plan for the building was passed then and an inauguration ceremony was organized on Tuesday, 2nd October, 1993.
Inauguration Ceremony
On the auspicious day 2nd October, 1993 at 9 a.m. in the huge campus of Vidyasankul, a grand inauguration ceremony was organized. Swami Sachchidanand (Bhaktiniketan, Dantali Ashram) inaugurated the ceremony and rituals were performed for the establishment of three college buildings. Swami Sachchidanand lit the flames and gave a dazzling inaugural speech and received a big applause. He hypnotized the audience by his astonishing speech which lasted for almost one and half hour. The two chief guests Dr. Indiraben P.Shah (Principal, Sheth P.T. Mahila College, Vanita Vishram) and the president of the whole function Shree Kunjvihari Maheta (The Secretary, The Sarvajanik Education Trust) also gave occasional speeches. At the end of the ceremony, the donators were complimented, honored and felicitated with shawl.
The Establishment of Shree J.D.G. Com. Coll. And S.A.S. Coll. Of Mgt.:
In 1993, the trust decided to establish three colleges: Arts, Commerce and Science and started to build the college campus. Finally, from 12th July, 1999, the academic year of Shree J.D. Gabani Commerce College commenced. The two colleges namely Shree J.B. Dharukawala Arts and Shree J.D. Gabani Commerce College had been a joint college from 1999 to 2005. Then the former college became a grant-in-aid and the latter got separated from the merged unit and thus became a self-financed institute. The trust also started another college namely Shree Swami Atmanand Saraswati College of Management which later got merged with Commerce college.
One of the prominent businessmen namely Shree Valjibhai Jerajbhai Gabani, most often known as Kesari, who has been actively engaged in social and political fields, donated a huge amount for the establishment of the building for Shree J.D. Gabani Commerce College for the commemoration of his late father, namely belated Shree Jerajbhai Dosabhai Gabani (originally belonged to Khopala, Ta.: Gadhada, Dist.: Bhavnagar)
